NEW BORN CARE

Dr Shaivali Joshi sees new born babies at various hospitals in Mahim,Matunga and Dadar .All you have to do is provide your obstetrician or the hospital with her name and the hospital will call her when your baby is born. Your baby will be seen within 24 hours, and she will try to come the same day if not at the time of delivery.

Your baby will get a full exam and Dr Shaivali Joshi will review records from your pregnancy and delivery. After your baby’s exam the doctor will see you to discuss how your baby is doing, provide advice, and answer any questions you have. We expect you will have lots of questions, and want to feel comfortable asking them. Knowing what is going on with your baby and how to care for him or her is very important.

Your baby will be examined each day you are in the hospital, and the doctor will visit with as needed. We find this is especially helpful for our breastfeeding moms as we can make sure the baby is having adequate feeding and provide advice and encouragement so the breast feeding is successful.

If your baby is born at a different hospital, just call us and make an appointment to be seen 1-2 days after discharge. Feel free to call any time during your pregnancy if you have any questions or concerns, or if your baby is having any issues we need to be aware of.
Thank you for entrusting us with the care of your baby.

Newborn Care

After your angel is born, the next visit should be no more than 5 days after delivery.
Going home with a new baby is exciting, but it can be scary, too. Newborns have many needs, like frequent feedings and diaper changes. Babies can have health issues that are different from older children and adults, like diaper rash and cradle cap.
Your baby will go through many changes during the first year of life. You may feel uneasy at first. Ask Dr Shaivali Joshi for help if you need it.
